It is possible for many devices to configure some advanced settings for the communication. For instance these settings can be set for GPIB or RS-232 communication.
Most of time these settings can be adjusted after enabling the check box 'Use advanced configuration'. It seems that for some devices these settings are not remembered (e.g.Deisel HD 100).
Why are these adjusted settings not stored/used by my device?

This is normal behavior of the software, because these settings are mandatory for the device communication and can't be changed by the customer.
It should be better to gray-out this check-box to indicate that the option cannot be deactivated or modified by the end-user.

We have an item for this with the reference #4719: Advanced configuration check-box is not retained if unchecked.
