IF overload detected

Post by sast »

I got an error message from my device.

It happens when (final) measuring a specific peak (average/QP) with a Radiated Emission Multiband mode test.
All the other peak are measured just fine when performing the (final) measurements, and no error is shown. When I remove this specific peak the error is also gone.
What is going wrong?

Answer:

This is not a software issue. It seems that the IF overload is detected by your measuring device while performing the final measurement (this error should also be visible on the device itself).
Possible solutions to prevent this message are:
Perform the same Test again, but now with a higher attenuation while measuring. Or, perform the same final measurement again, but also with a higher attenuation setting.

In short, the IF overload error messages should disappear with use of a higher attenuation configuration.
