Advanced Configuration settings GPIB

Post by solutionseeker »

It is possible in the advance configuration screen to configure some additional settings for GPIB communication.
What should these settings be?

Re: Advanced Configuration settings GPIB

The Advanced GPIB settings are mainly used to introduce (small) delays in the communication stream with the device. Especially in cases of (very) old equipment this setting is very useful, because the device can't handle the speed of commands RadiMation is sending to it.
This setting screen is accessible whenever GPIB communication is possible. It is not always allowed by the end-user to change these configuration settings. When not accessible the settings are not always grayed-out, but will just be reset to the default again (see: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=122).

Normally, it is best to just keep the default settings if you have successful communication with the device. If it is turned off by default checking the 'Use advanced configuration' could introduce unnecessary test delays.
