New device driver for RGN2006B generator

For calibration of RF components from 10 kHz - 2 GHz we use the RGN2006B generator (two separate generators from 9 kHz - 230 MHz and 230 MHz - 6 GHz) in combination with the switch RSW1022S. For the frequency range from 10 kHz - 2 GHz with have to divide the "System calibration" and "EUT calibration" in two frequency ranges (10 kHz - 230 MHz and 230 MHz - 2 GHz). Afterwards we have to combine the two separate generated *.COR files to one *.COR file. This way of calibration is very time increasing. This is one of the reasons why we don't use every time this calibration setup for RF calibrations above the 230 MHz.

The idea:
Define a new generator, for instance RGN2006C (RGN2006B new generation), which combines the RGN2006B generator and RSW1022S switch hardware to one generator with one output. For this new generator a new device driver will be defined. The device driver is so arranged that for frequencies < 230 MHz the LF part of RGN2006B is used in combination with "NO" input of the switch. For frequencies above 230 MHz the HF part of RGN2006B is used in combination with the "NC" input of the switch.

Advantages: Only one TSF file for "System calibration" and "EUT calibration" and one complete *.COR file for the whole frequency range.

This new (easy to use, user friendly) generator would give us and other customers of Radimation a lot of freedom for new applications.

Thank you for your recommendation, we have forwarded the information to our hardware department (product owner).
As soon as we receive feedback we will reply it here in this topic.

Is there already some information about this item.

As long the two generators are not combined to one new generator this measurement set-up of hardware and software is too time consuming for calibrating several RF components.
