Boonton 9002B with options -001B and -003

Hello John,

I observed that our Boonton 9002b, which we use for the BCI measurement to measure the injected current displays in the low frequency range the message cc 3. This means underrange. Attached a Plot of the measurement. Is it possible to make some changes at the device driver (for example changing the unit from dbm to mV) so that the information about the measurement can be accuratly read by radimation? By the way a part of the equipment will be on 19.02. in your company for calibration (also the boonton).

Thanx in advance,
Marius

Hello Marius,

I have created an item for this request in our database with reference #4516.
We will investigate the possibility and will give you feedback as soon as we know more.

Kind regards

Hello Marius,

Could it be that the type of your used RF voltmeter is a Boonton 9200B instead of 9002B as you wrote?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Marius,

Thank you for your confirmation. We have extended the device driver for this device. It now will change to mV if in dBm an underrange is detected, and after reading the data in mV it will automatically switch back to dBm mode.

Hello Sander,

Thx for solving the issue... I will give you a back up as soon as our equipment is back from calibration.

Hello Sander,

it seems to fuction well but sometimes the underrange current value is logged by radimation... It seems like the instrument is not changing the unit fast enough.

Hello Marius,

Is it improved for your needs? Can you capture a NI trace (spy) file for me and send me a screenshot of the graph.
It could be that the device is really measuring an under range. If that is the case we can't further improve it because of the limitation of the device itself.

Kind regards
