Are corrections all positive?

Post by GeoffW1952 »

A dumb question from a newbie, but I seem to remember being told that all corrections in correction files are positive and the sense is determined by what device is associated with it. Is this correct?

The correction files can have positive and negative values. Sometimes you have to compensate for gain and some times for attenuation. The correction files can be used for different lists (Eg freq. list) as well.

So they are flexible and allow you to work with different units and columns. So if you need to have a -2 dB attenuation on 200Khz you can enter the value in that unit in the correction file.
