New version: RadiMation version 2020.1.8

Post by roge »

We have released an updated version of the RadiMation software, which includes several improvements and fixes for problems that have been detected since the release of the 2020.0.12 version.
This version 2020.1.8 has been validated by our internal software quality checks. We strongly advise to test and verify (according to your quality system) this and each new version of RadiMation at for example a separate PC or laptop with your setup and with your measurement equipment, before you are going to use it for daily operation.

The new 2020.1.8 release of RadiMation can now be downloaded from the DARE!! web-site. Image

We always advise to thoroughly test each new RadiMation software version to determine if it works correctly in your situation with your equipment, before you use it for daily measurements. This is even a requirement for all ISO 17025 accredited test-labs. To enable customers to validate new software versions before they implement that new software version, we even made it possible to install multiple versions of RadiMation side-by-side on a single PC. It is of course also possible to perform this validation on for example a separate PC or laptop.

New functionality
We also include several improvements and new functionalities in version 2020.1.8, the most important improvements are:
  • HV/LV coupling measurement according CISPR25.
It now is possible to use the combination of the 'spectrum analyser' and 'calibration antenna' as a field strength measurement device in a multiband immunity test. This allows to measure the frequency selective electrical field strength of the carrier frequency, which is needed to perform the HV/LV coupling measurement as it is described in CISPR25. In that measurement the radiated electrical field should be below a specified limit, and thus it is also possible to specify a limit line file in the immunity test, which is compared to the measured electrical field. Any frequency that has a higher measured electrical field than the limit line will be marked as a 'peak' in the peak table, which is now also shown in the multiband immunity test.

  • Command line interface for running the report generator from scripts or other programs.
An additional RADICLI.EXE program is also installed, which accepts several command line arguments to use the report generator to automatically generate a report. This RADICLI.EXE program can be called from other programs or BAT files to generate a large amount of reports for EUT files. It supports all the existing report generator codes and templates, and even allows to generate individual reports for each individual test in an EUT file.
The details are described and explained in the Command Line Interface paragraph in Chapter 13 of the manual.
This command line interface can for example be used to automatically export large amount of RadiMation test data in a defined format, for further data processing.
  • Time based ramp-up and ramp-down in multiband immunity tests.
When changing from one frequency to the next frequency in a multiband immunity test, the ramp method can now be further configured.

    It allows:
    • Time based ramp-up or ramp-down.
    • Fixed number of steps for ramp-up or ramp-down.
    • Fixed step size for ramp-up or ramp-down.
Also the ramp depth can be configured, and an additional recovery time after the ramp-down can be specified. The ramp-down method can be different from the ramp-up method.
  • More logical default values for several parameters, instead of 0.0.
  • Impedance graphs in Network Analyzer S-Parameter test.
Based on the values of the magnitude and phase measurement results, the impedance of the S11 and S22 is calculated and can be shown in a graph.
  • Reduced the memory usage, fixing out of memory errors.
  • Updated documentation in the manual and on the RadiWiki website.
The list of available device drivers is continuously updated on the RadiWiki website. Also the end-user manual and error explanations are updated to clarify user questions.
  • Several new device drivers, some of which are:
    • EMC Partner Transient 3000
    • R&S FPL1000-series
    • mk Messtechnick On Screen Display
    • Schwarzbeck NFCN 9734
  • In total more than 250 improvements or fixes
Known issues
  • #9118: Ambient suppression in Multiband Emission GTEM causes that the GTEM correlation is not performed
If you have a problem or question, please do not hesitate to report it to us, so we can continue to improve RadiMation.

Fixed issues
