Initialising of immunity equipment produce crash 2013.1.14

Post by Rosu »

Hello,

I performed the migration of our radimation configuration from our old XP-PC to a new Win 7 PC. The Radimation 2013.1.14 is crashing by trying to initialise the measurement equipment (I think the SMA 100A is the origin of this behaviour) The 2013.1.13 is functioning. Attached the NI IO Trace.

Can you take a look why this happens?

Greetz Marius

P. S. @ John: I will try the new ESPI device driver tomorrow.

Hello Marius,

I inspected the NI-SPY file.
Which device is on GPIB address 28? Is it the R&S SMA 100A?
It seems that the device driver that controls the device at address 28 is causing the problem.

With best regards,
John

Hello Marius,

Can you perform a single 'Check' on the R&S SMA100A? I then would like to have a NI-SPY file of that 'Check'.

Thanks in advance,
John

Actually we are running some urgent tests and I am not in the office for the rest of the week. The signal generator does not answer with the single check (I tried this yesterday too). May be it helps you to know that the 2013.1.13 is functioning. Sorry

Hello Marius,

Thanks for the NI-SPY file. It indeed shows something strange. I do have an idea what could be causing this. I will investigate it now. A few moments please.

Hello Marius,

Related to the control of the R&S SMA100A. You are probably facing a problem with a not initialized variable, which is causing a wait loop to take a variable amount of time (probably several hours).
I already detected this issue very recently, and it is already updated in the latest drivers. You should download the latest DRIVERS.EXE from our RadiWiki site.

I expect that the problem will then be fixed, and the R&S SMA100A will be controlled normally again. Could you confirm if the problem is fixed with the updated drivers?

With best regards,
John
