How can I perform a test accoording the ISO 11452-4, and then specifically the closed loop method with power limitation test?

RadiMation is fully capable of performing a closed loop BCI test as described in the 11452-4 standard.

The closed-loop method is described in paragraph 7.6.1.2 and paragraph 8.3.1.3 of the 11452-4:2011

The closed loop method should be carried out in two phases:
  1. A calibration is required (paragraph 8.3.1.3.2)
  2. Closed loop test with power limitation on the DUT (paragraph 8.3.1.3.3)
The Calibration can be performed using the ‘Calibration’ > ‘System Calibration’ > ‘Conducted Immunity’ menu in our RadiMation software.
A possible configuration for this test is:

Please be aware that the test-levels, and frequency range can be different, and is depending on the EUT that should be tested.
At the end of the calibration, the calibrated values should be saved into a .CAL, as those values are needed during the real closed loop test.

For Closed loop test with power limitation on the DUT, it is important to first open an EUT file in RadiMation. Once the EUT file is opened, the closed loop test can be started by selecting the ‘Tests’ > ‘Conducted Immunity’ > ‘Multiband’ test from the menu in our RadiMation software.
The ISO 11452-4 describes for this closed loop test, that the power on each tested frequency should be increased until:
  1. The measured current reaches the specified test-level
  2. The forward power reaches a power limit which is four times the previously calibrated power
In the Conducted Immunity Multiband test, this can be configured by including two test-levels in the test configuration:

  2. Calculated Current limit

    In this calculated current limit configuration, you can specify the previously calibrated calibration file, and limit the injected power to 4x the calibrated power.
The test configuration, will thus become something like:

Again, please be aware that the test-levels, and frequency range can be different, and is depending on the EUT that should be tested.

Because a current closed loop method is selected, the current will be measured on every frequency. This also causes that the current graph will be available as a graph line, it is not necessary to also include the 'current' in the inputs list.
Because the calculated current limit is included, which a forward power measurement on every frequency. This also causes that the forward power graph will also be available as a graph line, and it is not necessary to also include the 'forward power' in the inputs list.

With this calibration and test, the closed loop method as described in the ISO 11452-4 can be performed.
