How works the function "location type" in CE LISN multiband?

Post by solutionseeker »

At the moment there are three items to choose at Location type in a conducted emission LISN multiband test.
  • 1. LISN -> result in dbµV
    2. Current sensor -> result in dBµA
    3. Antenna Terminal–> result in dBpW ???
Are these functions verified? What is measured when choosing "Antenna Terminal"? -What is defining the unit here? Is this the place to include an absorbing clamp? If yes, with which unit shall the correction factor be applied? Is this the place to include a magnetic antenna? If yes, with which unit shall the correction factor be applied?

The location type that are available in the conducted emission multiband test are working correctly. Each location type (also sometimes called measurement-type) has its own purpose.
  • LISN: to perform measurements using a LISN. The result is shown in voltage units (for example dBµV)
  • Current sensor: used to perform emission measurments using a current clamp. The result is shown in current units (for example dBµA)
  • Antenna Terminal: used to perform emission measurements where the analyzer or receiver is directly connectd to an (antenna) output of the EUT. The result is shown in power units (for example dBpW)
We currently do not provide support to perform measurements with an absorbing clamp in Multiband emission. If an absorbing clamp measurement should be done, the single band absorbing clamp test should be used.
If a measurement should be performed with a magnetic loop antenna, the Radiated Emission Multiband test should be used. That test does support magnetic field measurements.

A similar question was also raised for Radiated Emission in the past. That question is available at: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=755
