Analyser is using dBuV Unit during currentprobe measurement?

Post by incognito »

The unit is not set correctly on the spectrum analyser instrument while performing a conducted emissions with current probe.
On how to reproduce it:
1. Select an emission method multiband, for current probe.
2. Set limits in dBuA and set unit in dBuA.
3. Start the test
4. Check that the unit on the analyzer remains in dBuV. (This issue happens with both old and new driver.)

The unit on the analyzer will always be dBuV. Also when conducted emission measurement using the dBuA unit are performed, the unit on the Analyzer remains dBuV.
The Analyzer is a device that measures Voltage. That is why the unit is always in dBuV.

During a conducted emission measurement, the conversion from dBuV measurements with the analyzer to dBuA units on the graph, will be performed by the RadiMation software. RadiMation is also taking the resistance of the currentprobe into account during this calculation. Because the analyzer is unaware of the used current probe correction factor, it is impossible for the analyzer to show the values expressed in dBuA.

During a radiated emission measurement, the conversion from dBuV measurements with the analyzer to dBuV/m units ont he graph, will be performed by the RadiMation software. RadiMation is also taking the antenna factor of the antenna into account during this calculation. Because the analyzer is unaware of the used antenna correction factor, it is impossible for the analyzer to show the values expressed in dBuV/m.
