Radiated Emission with R&S ESR3 Time Domain

Post by Andy75 »

Hi radimation users,

i have a problem in the frequency range 1 - 3 GHz with ESR3 only in Time Domain.
Bandwidth: 1 MHz
Linear Step Size: 500 kHz
Detector: PK and AV
There is always the error message "Too many datapoints"!!

Does anyone know this problem?

Hello Andy,

The error message: 'Too many datapoints' means that the receiver is sending more data measurement values, than we are expecting. When the receiver is sending more data measurement values, we do not know how to interpret this, and to indicate this we raise the error message 'Too many datapoints'.

Please press the 'Details' button on the 'Error window', and then press the 'Report' button. In the new window, you will be able to specify your details, and to send the error message to the RadiMation support. This report will also contain the communication log with the R&S ESR3, so we will be able to investigate why this error message is being generated.

Thanks in advance,

John

We recently have implemented a workaround in our RadiMation device drivers, that prevent that the 'Too much datapoints' error is happening.
The R&S ESU and ESI series receivers (also including the ESW/ESR/ESL/ESP/ESR/etc....) have a minimum span depending on the selected RBW and the center frequency. This could cause that those receivers are measuring more data points than RadiMation requested, which could result in the mentioned error.

In the newest device drivers, we are correctly handling this situation, and with a workaround, we are able to get the correct data from the receiver.
Please download and install a recent version of the RadiMation device drivers. If you still have a problem with the latest device drivers, please contact us again, and we will fix it.
