What is the 'Location Type' setting in a MB Emission test?
What is the 'Location Type' setting in a MB Emission test?
In a multiband Radiated Emission test, it is possible to select three different values for the 'Location type'. What does this setting do?
Re: What is the 'Location Type' setting in a MB Emission tes
The 'Location Type' specifies the type of Radiated Emission test that should be performed. A better name probably is 'Measurement type', and we will change it to 'Measurement Type' in the future.
The selection at 'Location Type' has influences on the variation of the movements that are possible during the test, and it determines the output units in which the results will be shown.

- Antenna height, distance, polarization and angle
This 'Location Type' is used to perform 'standard' electrical field emission measurements, where the antenna height, antenna polarization, turntable angle and antenna distance can be varied during the test. The settings that control the allowed movements are shown below the 'Location Type' selection box. The measurement results are shown in Electrical Field units (dBuV/m, V/m, dBmV/m, etc...). The unit that will be used can be selected by the end-user as the 'Electrical Field' unit. - Magnetic Field antenna
This 'Location Type' is used to perform magnetic field measurements. During this measurement it is also possible to specify the antenna height, antenna polarization, turntable angle and antenna distance that should be varied during the test. The settings that control the allowed movements are shown below the 'Location Type' selection box. The measurement results are shown in Magnetic Field units (dBpT, dBuA/m, pT, uA/m, etc...). The unit that will be used can be selected by the end-user as the 'Magnetic Field' unit. - Antenna spurious and Harmonic outputs
This 'Location Type' is used to perform power measurements, for example to measure the output of an antenna terminal of an EUT. This 'Location Type' does not allow that the antenna height, antenna polarization, turntable angle or antenna distance is varied. The measurement results are shown in Power units (dBmW, W, mW, dBW, uW, etc...). The unit that will be used can be selected by the end-user as the 'Power' unit.
